Yesterday, my five-year-old daughter gave me a star sticker, and said it is because I help her, our family, friends and people at work.
Today, I brought her with me to pick up a megaphone for a race my work is organizing.
I asked her what she would like to do next. She said she wanted to go to a candy store to buy a stuffed animal for me to sleep with. “I have many. I don’t need anymore. I want you to have one for when you go to sleep.”
We went to the store. She found Kit, a small gray plush, she went straight to the register, and we bought it. She didn’t ask for a thing for herself.
